A superb pair of 18th Century paintings, each depicting the portrait of a son of Lord Admiral Smith.

What makes the pair so unusual is that one son is mixed race. The fact that the Admiral, a respected man in 18th Century England, would have celebrated a son of colour at this time is almost unheard of in our history. On top of this unusual background, both pieces are in their completely original, untouched, condition.
